Devius looked around him, he saw some pedestrians and a guy with a bike standing around.
Dev: 'Look, I know you wanna kick my ass. But I'm not gonna let you, because I have some more important business to attend to.'
Carlson's father gave him a push.
Dev: 'Well, if you insist.'
He kicked his opponent so hard between the legs, the man's feet left the ground.
While his opponent was still in the air, he kicked the man in his left thigh with his left leg.
He flew towards a rock, but it seemed he was about to miss it by flying over it.
The rock had the size of an adult's upper body in height and width. The top was blunt and more or less round.
Devius made a few jumps. He then hit the man's back with his clenched fists, so he landed with his stomach on the rock.
The man was hurt and drooling over the side of the rock.
Devius lifted his head by grabbing him by the hair. 'Do us both a favor: Never embarrass yourself like that again.' He silently told his defeated opponent.
Devius let him suffer on his own some more and called him a 'bitch'.
Even more people were spectating now, but when Devius looked at them, they went on their way again.
When he went to Aiko, the kid said: 'Nice one! I really think that will make them respect extra terrestrial life more!'
Dev: 'Do you want to take on Jenkins and his gang? Or do you wanna join your friend on the rock over there?'
Aiko: 'Alright, alright! Jeez!'
-
After doing a whole lot more walking, they saw a gigantic house.
The house was supposed to be Jenkins'.
Dev: 'You've got to be freakin' kidding me...'
Aiko: 'That is a pretty big house...' The kid said amazed.
Dev: 'And I live in a goddamn cave?
Me? The one that is planning to take this fool down...'
Aiko: 'Do you think that security will shoot us down if we just ring the doorbell?'
Dev: 'Only one way to find out.' He said as he rang it.
It took some time before somebody opened.
It was Jenkins himself who opened the door.
He had a regular build; this Beatles/60's haircut, which was a bit longer at the back.
A big moustache and this beard goats have, which ended in a point.
Round frame glasses with tinted glass.
He wore a Hawaiian shirt, which matched his pants and shoes (matching as in going together, not with the same pattern).
Jenk: 'Yes? Can I help you with something?'
Devius grappled him, pushing one of his sharp fingers in Jenkins' neck, while he had a tight grip with the other arm on his neck.
Dev: 'Come out! Or I'll kill him right here, right now!'
Jenkins who was not really comfortable in this situation, told him: 'Let me go! There is no one here!'
After he saw no reaction at all, Devius believed his 'victim' and set him free.
Jenk: 'That was not cool, man!' He said while grabbing his neck.
Devius looked in confusion towards Aiko, who just looked equally confused.
Dev: 'So there are no guards?
Not anyone?
Are we even in the right house..?'
Jenk: 'Depends on who you're looking for...'
Dev: 'Some Jenkins.'
Aiko: 'Also known as Dirty Jenkins.' The kid filled in.
Jenk: 'Oh... Then you are at the right address.'
Dev:' A quick question: Why would you admit that?'
Jenk: 'Because the old dirry Jenkins got recognized at last!
That's what my friends call me. Dirry Jenkins.'
Dev: 'Wait... You live in this freakin' castle all by yourself?'
Jenk: 'Yup.
I'm sorry if the irony goes beside you, but I find it pretty funny that somebody finally found me, now that I'm planning to stop!' He said with a big, confident smile on his face.
Aiko: 'I... I don't understand...'
Dev: 'A little explanation please. The kid doesn't understand.'
Aiko gave the alien a dirty look.
Jenk: 'Before we did the last robbery I decided to stop doing this kind of work.
I or anyone in my crew hasn't ever been caught.
People know about a Jenkins or Dirty Jenkins, but nobody knew it was me. I mean nobody that would give me away.
I've done so many robberies with the crew... I have enough money to never worry about it again.
Bought this ground, built this house on it, kept to myself. Now I have what I want, so now I can move on with my life.'
Dev: 'You're pretty open about this all...'
Jenk: 'That's because I hope you would understand.
I can't take on the two of you. Certainly not an alien with your posture.'
Aiko: 'So you hope that we're just going to leave you alone now?'
Jenk: 'Look man, I swear I'm not ever going to steal again.
I swear I'll pay for everything from now on.'
Aiko: 'Pay with money you stole in the first place...'
Jenk: 'That I can't deny...
I just want a normal live. A life with a wife and kids.
But I couldn't start on that as long as I didn't have the money. I wanted a fast way to become very rich. So I, my future wife and kids don't ever have to worry about money.
Dev: 'I really appreciate it that you would tell us your entire motivational story, without even knowing us, I really do...' He said unimpressed and bored. 'You want a family, but you want to be rich before you start that family, then you can start that life thinking everything will be alright forever. Typical.'
Aiko: 'Strong motivation or not, you did wrong, so you have to pay like everyone else.'
Jenk: 'There is one thing I still worry about...'
Aiko: 'What's that?'
Jenk: 'My old gang.
I haven't told them I'm going to quit yet.'
Dev: 'So what's the problem? You think they're scared you're gonna rat?'
Aiko: 'For Christ sake, Devius! What does it matter? Haven't we wasted enough time already?'
Dev: 'Hold on! These are some important points in the story!'
Jenk: 'I'm almost certain they are going to want to get rid of me. I was like the leader, the one that planned most of it. They'll find a reason...'
Aiko: 'So, if you turn yourself in, you won't have that problem.'
Jenkins looked towards Devius as he asked: 'Is this kid stupid?'
'No, that was a serious question.' He then said looking at Aiko.
'Why would I want to turn myself in at this moment?' He asked annoyed.
There was a brief silence.
'I have a proposition for you two.' He continued.
Dev: 'I'm listening.'
Aiko: 'I ain't. Come on Devius, what are we doing?'
Dev: 'Shut your pie hole for a minute!
You and I don't always think the same. That's because we are different. Learn to accept that! Now let the man speak!'
Aiko made the 'forget about you' gesture.
Jenk: 'I'll give you 1/4 of my money if you take out my old gang.'
Dev: 'Well, how much exactly is 1/4? And why would I be interested in money?'
Aiko: 'Stolen money!'
Jenkins put a number on a paper. 'Satisfied?' He asked Devius.
'That's a nice figure. Very nice even, but what can I do with money?'
Jenk: 'You have expenses don't you?' He asked the alien confused.
'Not really... I just take stuff people don't need any more, and leave out on the street.
And if I have to get something from a store, I just take it or the kid buys it.'
Jenk: 'The kid is not always gonna be there to pay for everything, man!
And as far as the just taking goes, I guess you've just been lucky. But do you wanna keep living that life or do you want to be able to pay for things? You know, the way it's supposed to be.'
Dev: 'You're not really the person to tell me that... But you do have a point. To be able to live a 'normal' life here. I have to fit in if I don't to piss off... like everybody...'
Aiko: 'Are you serious?' He asked furiously.
Dev: 'This would make me an assassin, Aiko!
This is way cooler than risking my life to capture them alive and handing them over to the police or whatever, so they can go and claim everything for themselves.'
Aiko: 'Can I talk to you for a minute?' He asked Devius.
Dev: 'Sure.'
They stepped away from Jenkins.
Aiko: 'Are you seriously considering taking money to kill people?' He asked disapproving.
Dev: 'Look at it like this: Your way gets the entire gang locked away, that is IF we succeed. It has no real reward, except for our 15 minutes of fame.'
Aiko responded without hearing him out fully: 'People will never forget!'
Dev: 'Doubt it.
Anyway, the other option is killing them, with the exception of Jenkins. Who will pay us a nice fee!'
Aiko: 'I don't want his damn money!'
Dev: 'Hey! Watch that language!'
Aiko: 'So you're not sure we would be able to fight them and hand them over to the police, but killing them isn't a problem at all?'
Aiko just looked at him, as he didn't immediately respond. Then the kid looked away.
'Whatever...' He then said under his breath.
Dev: 'It isn't all about that, kid.
Beating them up, then tying them up or something and transport them is a lot of work.
Killing them is easier.'
Aiko opened his mouth to say something. Devius saw this, and went in first.
Dev: 'No. I'm not interested in your reply.
Your grandfather asked me to make a great warrior out of you. Somebody who's able to defend himself.
You liked that idea. I guess because you do want to be able to defend yourself, defend your grandfather if needed and so on.
You also know that it would give your grandfather some peace of mind.
But all of that goes together with hurting your opponents, and in some cases even killing them.
That's another reason why I want to go this way.'
Aiko was processing the explanation.
Aiko: 'Just promise me one thing...'
Dev: 'That I don't tell your grandpa?'
Aiko: 'No. He knows that sooner or later that day had to come.'
Dev: 'He wouldn't like it.'
Aiko: 'I don't care about that. What's the difference between killing now or in a few years anyway? This is what life is now I guess...
No, the thing I want you to promise me is that you consider bringing Jenkins in.
After we've done the rest of the gang, I would appreciate it if we serve some real justice.'
Dev: 'Can I still take his money though?'
Aiko: 'Yeah... Sure... Why not?' He said with a forced smile.
Dev: 'I'll consider it.'
They went back over to Jenkins.
Jenk: 'That was a long talk, men!'
Dev: 'We're taking the offer.'
Aiko nodded to confirm.
Jenk: 'Great! I'll give you the addresses!'
He started writing things down.
Jenk: 'I'll put their nicknames next to it. Believe me, that's going to come in handy!'
He finished writing. He handed over the note to Devius.
Jenk: 'That's all 4 of them.'
Devius and Aiko looked at the list.
